wind of change…
poem April 2nd, 2009i was comfortably seated on the sofa facing the bay window; watching the birds and feasting my sight upon new blooms on my neighbor’s garden when a thought hits me yet again.yes, it is the title of scorpio’s hit “wind of change”. so, instead of passing my time coughing and sneezing all day and night i needed that much refreshing break from it all….
literally, it is as simple as changes of wind…figuratively, well, it is open to everyone’s interpretation of your “wind of change”…………………….
a gentle breeze and soft caress
western wind has touch my face
it encircles me with warm embrace
nurtures me with joys ahead
i feel the grass strokes my feet
wild flowers sways just to be kissed
i lift my arms and swirl around
me and those leaves in rhythm this time
i was jarred by a sudden gust
the graceful wind becomes wild
the leaves shiver upon its touch
flowers cringe shaken by its sight
dark clouds looms and obscure the light
upon the horizon the tempest sweeping fast
on its path were debris of once a lovely sight
i shudder at the scene unfolding before my eyes
i run and run and try to hide
from the ghastly fingers of stormy night
i need a shroud from its lightning whip
shelter from wrath of its thunderous screech
how can it be the wind so velvety
all of a sudden becomes monstrosity
just this morning you sang me a lullaby
by nightfall you turn to an ugly malady
i knew that wind are known to shift
should have known the fury it will unleash
i summon the courage to boldly face
after the storm a brand new day will break

Hay Kuracha, like you, am afflicted with a bad case of sneezing and coughing. I am, in fact, absent from work today. I woke up with an achy-itchy throat and decided to have that much needed rest. I hope we get better soon girlash! Extend my hugs and kisses to our Izza when you get well. . . hello to “pugo” (hehe)
The poem is beautiful and I so like the photo that goes with it –very dramatic!
Yes… the gentle breeze that calms us has a tendency to turn into a storm… one that can wreck havoc and even destroy. . .
Cher, good to hear Kyla is better.
Kulasa. . .in whatever…. and wherever. .. we will be here to back you up! Chin up girl and dance in the rain!
“Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.”

lovely Eng. I too am suffering from bad allergies right now, that is my love-hate relationship with spring.
Like what Zen said, you said it all. The wind of change indeed….sometimes it is so soothing…yet sometimes it is so devastating….but we all know there is a promise of a clear beautiful day after the storm is over.

oh gosh, i wanted to write a poem for zen, too, (i am assuming this is for her). in fact, ang rough draft na-save ko na. this poem is so enchanting, it engulfs one’s senses, it drips with emotion, it has the heart wanting with each word. it has a beginning and no begiining, has an end and no end. it is calm, it is vicious. it is full of passion. full of faith. full of love. it is the zenith of one’s existence. it is zen. it is us.
congrats, eng, and thank you for writing this for zen.

thank you Esmeralda Odette and thank you everyone- haaayyy the poet in me has gone to a place called a closet…now, words fail to come to me or shall i say i do not want the words to come to me because they can not flow from my brain into my fingers without lashing me..so thank you friends, thank you for turning the pain into a soothing melody…Che, can’t wait to read your poem…you know sisters, our friendship itself, ourlives…is a already one beautiful story…when we get all the time in the world- when we retire…let’s put them all together..into a bestseller hehehehe….

i love the picture ms eng…for how else can we see the wind except when it moves the things around us…like the leaf being carried on its wings…
i love the poem …it is lyrical…like a song…i can almost hear the singing, the rhythm, the whispering of a motion and the carefully selected words trying to capture the elusive thought of “change” into a creative construction…
the poem led me to see the wind…and made me feel comfortable with the changes that come expectedly unexpected…

Eng, you really are a brilliant writer, poet i admire you dear so much for that… thumbs up!
yes… the “wind of chain”, everythings changed for a reason, first thing came into my mind when i saw the picture Eng… is the story i remember years ago i read in a book, is “The Last Leaf”. It’s a story of two girls and an arist, one of girls was sick and they thought she will die… but they found one day the artist/painter dead after he finished his masterpiece… the last leaf.
